Fresh
from his sell out degree show at NCAD in May, Roderick Bradshaw
holds his second Dublin solo show at The Crow Gallery this November.
Roderick has been living and working in Ireland since 2001. In
2008 he received a 1st class honors degree in Fine Art. He has
now returned to NCAD to complete the Masters Fine Art (MFA) program.
Using
the medium of computer generated gyclee prints, Roderick’s
practice this year has been based on the effect that his own psychology
impacts on the colour and design choices he makes on a daily basis.
He has used the computer in order to eliminate tool marks and
other devices that might otherwise have indicated something of
the psychology of that day, so that the code would be as pure
as he could make it. Exploring the notions of technology and emotion,
he has created a coded language that explores his own precarious
psyche.
Roderick’s
work has featured in many group shows and he held his first solo
show, The Weight of Space, in Monster Truck Gallery in Dublin
in 2005. He was the recipient of the James Adams Fine Art Auctioneers
Award in 2008. His work is in public and private collections worldwide.
