Nolan embarks on his first Dublin solo show at The Crow Gallery in
October.
Originally
from Enniscorthy, County Wexford, he is now based in Dun Laoghaire,
County Dublin. Since graduating from Dun Laoghaire College of Art
& Design [IADT], he has worked in visual communications, design
and art direction. He has also published poetry and reviews under
the pen name PJ Nolan and is a founder member of the Ilustrators
Guild of Ireland.
The multi-disciplinary
nature of his practice sees each of his of these creative disciplines
inform and interrogate the others. Painting is to the fore of his
practice. His paintings explore subconscious recognitions, reactions
to shared environments and other elemental resonances.
Padhraig's paintings
have featured in many group shows and 2009 has seen his work selected
for inclusion in both the RHA and RUA annual shows. He will also
be participating in KUBRICK, an exhibition inspired by and devoted
to the film director's work, at The Light House cinema in October.
His work is
held in collections in Europe and the U.S.
