“My latest exhibition “Body-Work” is a combination of charcoal and pencil drawings as well as watercolours. My subject matter varies from wrinkled old men to beautiful young women (I have a particular preference to working with the female form). It is a representation of the most fascinating form of all on our plane: --The human form”.

Bernie graduated with a degree in Fine Art from Galway and a teaching degree from Limerick College of Art. After many years of teaching art in an all girls secondary school she is now concentrating on a solo career. She lives and works in County Mayo and has used many of the wonderful old characters in her locality (farmers musicians, and performers) as the basis for many of her works in this her new exhibition “Body-Work”

Her studies of the traditional wild flowers are also inspired by her locality. The locations of the subjects of her studies of beautiful young woman however are a well-kept secret!
