19th - 23rd September 2007

Lit | an exhibition of new work by Gavin Redmond

Gavin Redmond's latest work mines the territory of landscape painting. The work teases out a space between the rational and intuitive, the real and the metaphorical, the romantic sublime and kitsch in order to foreground a mood of quiet contemplation.

Gavin was born in Dublin in 1982. He studied at the Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Dun Laoghaire. Recent group exhibitions include: Iontas 2007; 'Fear Not', Sligo Art Gallery, Yeats Memorial Building; Studio Open Day, La Catedral Studios, Dublin, 2007; 9th Annual Art Showcase, Dublin 2006; 'You are Beautiful', International Book Project exhibited in Chicago, 2005;
IADT Graduate Exhibition 2005; 'Bulk', Dun Laoghaire Town Hall, 2005 and 'Purple Monkey Dishwasher', Dun Laoghaire, 2004
.

The exhibition opens on Tuesday 18th September at 6pm. Opening hours are 11am - 5pm and by appointment.
